Delete your Griiip Stream account

Griiip Stream is the mobile app published by Griiip.

This page explains how to delete your Griiip account and its data, what we delete, and what we keep. It is the same account you use on the Griiip website, so deleting it closes it there too.

How to delete your account

In the app

  1. Open Griiip Stream and sign in.

  2. Go to Settings, then Delete account.

  3. Check what will happen to each team you own (see below), then tap Delete account.

Your account is closed straight away: you are signed out on every device, nobody can sign in to it, and we email you to confirm.

Without the app
Email support@griiip.com with the subject “Delete my account”.
Send it from the email address you use to sign in, so we can confirm the request is yours.
We reply within 5 business days and close your account the same way.
You don’t need the app installed to do this.

You have 30 days to change your mind
Your account is permanently deleted 30 days after it is closed. Until then, email support@griiip.com and we can restore it. You can then sign in again, and the teams the deletion changed get back their ownership, sessions and members. Device pairings and team invitations are not restored.
You can’t create a new account with the same email address until the deletion is complete.

Teams you own
Before you confirm, the app shows what will happen to each team you own:

  • If the team has another admin, it passes to the one who has been an admin longest, and carries on.

  • Otherwise, you can hand it to one of its members, who becomes its admin.

  • If nobody takes it over, it closes with your account. Its other members lose access straight away, and after 30 days the team is deleted with all its sessions, drives and videos, including the drives its other members recorded in it.

Teams you are a member of
Your drives in a team that carries on stay with that team, so that removing one member doesn’t erase its record. When your account is deleted, your name and account are removed from them. The same goes for comments you left on the team’s drives: they stay, without your name. While your account is waiting to be deleted, the team’s member list no longer shows you.

What we delete
After the 30 days, we permanently delete:

  • your sign-in account and profile, and your team memberships;

  • every team that closed with your account, with all its sessions, laps, drives, telemetry, videos (full-HD copies included) and audio;

  • your conversations with the AI coach, and the record of what you did on the Griiip website;

  • your saved chart layouts and the share links you created.

We also remove your address from our mailing list.

What we keep
Your drives and comments in teams that carry on — kept by those teams, with your name and account removed, as described above.
Drives that were never linked to your account — kept indefinitely. Griiip Stream records each drive against the car it was recorded in, identified by the car’s vehicle identification number. A drive is connected to you only once it has been linked to your account. If that never happened, our records show that a car was driven but not who was driving it, so we have no way to find those drives and delete them. If you can tell us the car and the dates, email us and we’ll do what we can.

Backups and deleted-file recovery — up to 7 days, then overwritten.

Crash reports from the Android app — kept for 90 days by Firebase Crashlytics. They don’t include your name or email address.

Usage statistics from the Griiip website — kept by Google Analytics for up to 14 months.

Recordings stored on your own phone are separate — uninstalling the app removes them immediately. Until then, the app deletes its full-HD copies after the period you choose under Settings → Keep recordings for.
