Skip Barber Racing School and Griiip are proud to announce that next weekend's season-opening round of the 2026 Skip Barber Race Series will mark the first event of the new era of connected racing for the iconic driver-development series. All cars on the grid will roll out equipped with Griiip’s onboard telemetry device, streaming live data to the GriiipPerformance cloud and unlocking a complete, season-long development ecosystem for every driver in the field.
Two live dashboards, one connected garage
While the cars are on track, GriiipPerformance feeds two complementary real-time views. A performance dashboard gives drivers, engineers and coaches lap-by-lap telemetry with information on speed, braking, throttle, cornering, micro-sector deltas. A parallel vehicle health dashboard puts the mechanics in the loop with live readouts on critical systems, allowing issues to be spotted and addressed before they cost track time.
Coaching that doesn't stop at the checkered flag
Once a session ends, GriiipPerformance automatically turns the data into AI-driven reference laps, micro-sector analysis and personalised recommendations, delivered through embedded coaching tools that walk each driver through where time was lost and how to find it. Crucially, the same platform is connected to Skip Barber's simulator program - meaning a driver can leave the circuit on Sunday, log into the simulator midweek, and continue working on the exact corners and habits flagged from the previous race weekend. Coaching becomes continuous, not episodic.

"Our drivers come to Skip Barber to get better, faster," said Joe Monitto, Chief Marketing Officer at Skip Barber Racing School. "Pairing live telemetry during the sessions with AI-driven coaching and simulator follow-up between rounds means no insight is ever lost, and every minute counts toward the next result."
"Opening the 2026 season with a fully connected grid is exactly the milestone we set out to reach with Skip Barber," added Tamir Plachinsky, Founder and CEO of Griiip. "Every driver now has professional-grade analysis on every lap, every mechanic has live visibility into the car, and the development loop keeps running between races - that's a genuinely new standard for a development series."
The 2026 Skip Barber Race Series spans eight rounds and sixteen races at iconic North American circuits, continuing the program's five-decade legacy of launching professional motorsport careers.
Bringing the action to fans
Beyond the track, the Skip Barber Race Series will also be powered by GriiipLive, Griiip's fan-facing platform. Throughout the season, fans, families and motorsport followers will be able to follow every session with live timing, on-track positioning and data-driven storytelling that, until recently, lived only inside top-tier professional paddocks.
